Default AC Help!!

Okay so this is what is happening.
I have the car running and the AC on the compressor is spinning. But the air is hot. The lines in the bay are hot also. I assumed the compressor was being funny so I unplugged the compressor switch and started the car the compressor pulley spun but the clutch part did not. Turned the car off and plugged it back in and the compressor clutch did spin. So I thought it has to be Freon. So I checked the Freon with a gauge and a tool. Both said there was freon in the car. So I am confused. What else could it be?

I'm assuming that it's R-134a. What pressures do you have on the low side/high side. If the compressor clutch is indeed engaged and you have refrigerant in the system then it's either low and needs to be recharged (my first guess), is charged and has air in the system, or there is blockage - which should be seen by frosty lines and such. How do the lines look on the low side; do they get cold?

First thing, we need to know what the pressures are. You could have a low system charge and a bad vacuum signal causing the damper door in the blower housing to not close causing the cool air to be ran by the heater core and heated up. Does the air get warmer or cooler by changing the **** on the air temp control?

Your car doesn't use Freon....it uses refrigerant R134a.

Freon is a brand name for the refrigerants R-12, R-13B1, R-22, R-502, and R-503 manufactured by The Chemours Company.
