Removing engine from top. 99 Trans Am

Removing engine from top. 99 Trans Am Guys,
i know to some this may be an idiotic inquiry, but I’m looking for help and this is why this forum is here.
Im pulling the motor from 99 Trans Am from the top (please no debate about whether bottom is easier). I can’t seem to get the block to break loose from the transmission? I just put a new clutch in about 1000 miles ago and the tranny was stubborn as hell to get back in.
Some advice would be helpful. Should I slip a pry bar in between the block and tranny to help jimmy them apart or..?

its been awhile but when i pulled the trans outta my 2016 roush i had to stick a pry bar in to separate them and the car only had 3000 miles on it... not a f body but motor,trans,clutch separation is all the same just different bolt locations
