Door panel locks not working

Door panel locks not working sorry if this is in the wrong section, I do apologize
I am wondering what could potentially be the cause of the door panel lock ***** not working on a 2012 camaro.
the key and remote unlock the door just fine, yet when using the buttons on the door panel to lock or unlock the door they don't even respond to any input the key/remote does however still work to lock and unlock the doors.
the buttons for the windows work just fine. even the lock/unlock button on the center console doesn't work?
plz help.

trying to save my mother in-law the fee's of a mechanic shop.
