Default Disabling Airbag Math Check

I need to remove my steering wheel to replace one of the two steering column pivot pins and wanted to make sure I don't have the airbag go boom on me.

Here are the steps I am taking:
1. Remove battery from vehicle and wait 30 minutes (overkill but what the heck)
2. Remove the SIR fuse
3. Unplug the yellow drivers side airbag connector
4. Remove drivers side airbag

Does the listed procedure sound like a safe route?

Thanks!

I've always just unplugged the battery and waited 5 minutes before pulling the airbag. Never an issue, seems like overkill to me, but if that gives you peace of mind there's no reason not to.
