2001 Z28 build with overheating issues
The specs:
LSX376-b15 crate motor with a BTR LS3 Centrifugal blower cam and spring package
Meziere 55gpm Street EWP, 180 tstat
On3 Stand up radiator kit
F1A procharger, Velocity fuel rails and intake, 102mm TB
80# Fuel injectors, pump 93, Nasty Performance twin intank pump canister, -8 supply line
Viper spec T56
Moser M9 rear end with all tubular arms everywhere front and rear, heim joint ends.
Here's the 3 immediate issues I'm facing. Keep in mind, it hasn't been tuned yet. A very experienced tuner gave me a base file to run for break in. But before we put it on the rollers for a full tune, I need to get these issues figured out.
#1: The car maintains temp at idle fine, but as you go driving and give her some throttle a few times, the ECT slowly creeps up. It'll creep back down if you pull over and let it idle, until it gets over 215 or so, and then it struggles to cool down unless you shut it off or turn on the heater in the cabin.
#2: I'm getting an intermittent misfire under boost. I'm only seeing about 10lbs of boost on the current pulley. Sometimes it pulls strong and smooth. Sometimes it pulls strong and jerky, like KR or spark blowout. No KR being logged, no misfires either, though I think the PCM ignores misfire over a certain rpm/TP% doesn't it? I have 41-110 plugs in it now, but I've got NGK 6 and 7 sets getting here tomorrow to try some colder plugs.
#3: The trans tailshaft seal is leaking. All parts in the trans have less than 1k miles on them, other than some of the gears. I've had 4 different seals in it, all different brands. It continues to leak. No major driveline vibrations, except in 5th while off the throttle... Not so much in 6th. The 5th/6th driven gear is new. Pinion angle is 0*.
Any ideas or input y'all could give me would really help a bunch. I'll post some pictures here shortly.
