Help with water pump..It wont pump coolant..

How old is the pump? How old is the thermostat? My guess is that you have an enormous amount of trapped air - pump is not primed. Try pouring coolant / water directly into the upper radiator hose until it overflows. Now, also with a full radiator and the hose re-attached, let's see if it'll pump.

How do you know it's not pumping? (There's nothing visual that you'll be able to see.) Do you know if you have a good/proper thermostat installed? Have you tried installing the pump without the thermostat installed?

Are you still having the same issue with the belt reinstalled or is it ok now? Give a bit more info before pulling the thermostat. Are you having overheating issues or something? Why did you replace it in the first place?
