Axle bearing install question. Installing a new axle bearing on a 2000 trans am.
I noticed the new bearing has 1 side that is slight more rounded.
What side goes in the axle housing first, the flatter side or the side that is a little more rounded?
Itd make sense that the rounded side goes in first to help start the install. But the part numbers are on the more rounded edge, so I would think they'd want the part numbers on the outside.

Note, I pulled the other side, another more rounded side with the part # was facing in and the flatter side was face out towards the seal.
I installed the first side backwards and noted that the seal sticks out maybe 1/64 - 1/32 of an inch.
It doesnt look like it runs anything, so hopefully it will be fine for a while.
