94TA Drivers side window too low?
Yesterday was nice so my windows were down and up a few times without any problems whatsoever. Got to my last destination and the window wouldn't roll up.
It didn't even sound like the motor was trying to roll up and the only noise was a click from a relay or module (from under the steering wheel?) if I pushed the window switch down despite it being full down.
I came to the forums again and most of the time it seems like the motor in these fail but usually show signs of failing or still whirr even when they've failed. Which is why I'm making a new thread about this.
The motor was working perfectly fine and all of the sudden not at all.
Pushing up from the bottom of the window and pushing the switch doesn't do anything.
I've loosened the tracks and was able to move them freely along the channels in the window, and the rollers on the arms of the scissors. So the rollers and stuff in the regulator aren't broken.
Could the motor just be seized?
I apologize for another window thread but I can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for.
Thanks
BTW - These motors also behave differently under load than without. So, you could take a bad motor off and it might work off of the regulator. (Don't be fooled if you do this - it's still bad.)
You should follow the shbox instructions for the install. Many benefits to this: it preserves your door panels, the swap goes faster, less danger from the sprung regulator, etc. http://shbox.com/page/windowmotor.html
^ GM's service manual is very much lacking in this area of instruction. The shbox instructions are solid.
