Default Door Panel Repair?

Hi I have a good door panel to replace my cracked one with, but the new panel has a Velour insert and my 02 T/A has a perforated vinyl. Has anyone ever taken a door panel apart to make this type of change? Looks like maybe a melted plastic nail of sorts holding it together??
Any help would be appreciated!!
Ron

Check out the Pontiac Firebird 1967-2002 forum. There should be a number of threads in that section you can search.

I have done this conversion a couple of times. Just grind off enough of the plastic holding the trim on. I then use small flat washers with small screws or plastic welder to hold the trim back in place.

Johnny do you find one way better than the other?? Or is it just what that particular stud/mounting point commands?

I have to pick-up a heat gun before I even start this project.
