AC Oil question
Finally decided to fix my AC - bought car wasnt working - charged it here at work and added dye - system blew ice cold - compressor leaking from body (which I hear is common). So I figure I'd use the winter down time to fix it up.
Replacing :
-Compressor (Delphi)
-Accumulator
-Orfice tube
-Ac belt, tensioner and idler.
Orfice tube I took out was clean 0 debris in it.
As for installing new parts - the old compressor had 0 oil in it when I went to drain it, same with the accumulator.
As per the manual it says to had 2oz to compressor, 2oz to accumulator then if a "sudden large leak" occured, add addtional 3.
Being as everything appears dry, would adding 3oz to accumulator, 3 oz to compressor and maybe 1oz to condenser before I button it up to be safe (leaves 2oz for whats in evaporator/condenser if any). Rather it be slightly under then over.
