misfires and coil testing
I have begun to pull the ignition coils, and working on getting cylinder 8s spark plug out which is a pain all by itself.
OBD 2 codes are as follow
P0327: KNOCK SENSOR 1:CIRCUIT LOW BANK 1 OR SINGLE SENSOR
P0332: KNOCK SENSOR 2:CIRCUIT LOW BANK 2
P0308: CYLINDER 8 MISFIRE DETECTED
I have also been OHM testing the coils from the car with results as follow, note that this is from prong to prong testing, i could be completely wrong in my testing practices, but im open to new testing ideas, i just dont know how so this is what ive tried.
CYLINDER 8 IGNITION COIL
200K OHM TEST
P1 TO P2= 112
P1 TO P3=113
P1 TO P4=71
P2 TO P3=12
P2 TO P4=40
P3 TO P4=40
I also pulled coils 2-4-6 for testing, with test also going hand in hand with the ignition coil from the cylinder 8 misfire. I do want to note that I tested the new coils i am installing with test results completely different, i will post them below as well.
NEW COILS
200K OHM TEST
P1 TO P2=0
P1 TO P3=0
P1 TO P4=17
P2 TO P3=10
P2 TO P4=0
P3 TO P4=0
I will have the spark plugs out and swapped hopefully tomorrow, that will also give some insight depending on how the plugs look, what worries me is all the coils ive tested show the same result on this one side with none being close to what a new coil should test at, am i testing wrong? Or am i just dealing with a bigger issue than i am aware of. any insight would be helpful.
Im also looking into how to test my knock sensors and anything it deals with. just hoped this would be the easiest step to complete first.
