Need a little Help PLEASE!!!!! Hello everyone, i have a problem.....i recently dropped my lower k member to remove my oil pan so i could replace my factory leaking oil pan gasket. in the process of this i decided to remove about everything i could to clean and detail the engine bay. i removed the wire harness from the passenger side firewall where the rubber grommet is as well as disconnected everything electrical from the passenger side over to the drives side of the motor. i also dropped and disconnected the starter wires and cleaned up the starter due to the oil leak i previously had. i reassembled everything and plugged all connectors back in where they belonged. the only wire i couldnt find a place for was the smaller of the 2 copper ground straps on the drivers side.....the longer one attached to the inner sub frame but the smaller one im not sure. anyways, i put the battery back in the car and attached the positive post first.....when i attempted to hook up the negative side of the battery the car tried to crank.....i know this isnt correct lol......can anyone tell me what i may have hooked up in correctly to cause the car to want to crank when both battery terminals are hooked up????? many thanks guys!
Check the wires at the starter solenoid, On most Chevy starters One is 12v all the time and one is 12v switched, If they are hooked up wrong it will try to engage the starter when you hook up the battery.
