Default Help Identifying Part

A coworker thinks this part fell off his 2006 Ford Explorer XLT and would like to know what it is... and whether it's important . Personally, I think he found it under his Explorer and just assumed that it came from his vehicle because it looks to me like something that wouldn't just fall off - although I could be wrong (it wouldn't be the first time).

Anyone have an idea as to what it is?

It looks like a middle support bearing to a roll up garage door.

Actually, I just found out this morning that it's a piece of the AC compressor clutch. It would have been helpful if he had mentioned that his AC stopped working and was blowing only hot air.

I was going to say, that it looks like part of the a/c compressor clutch.
