Problems with my temperature gauge !!! When i cold start the car the temperature needle stays at cold and doesn't move no matter how long the car is warmed up. Then as i go to drive the car the needle flings to the middle where it should be, But why doesn't it gradually go up like it should. I even changed the sensors on the head and the radiator and the gauge still is messed up. PLEASE HELP!!!!
1999-2002 I think the gauge is driven by the engine ECM. It's not actually connected to the temp sender itself. You can hook up an OBD II scanner to your car to read the temperature value that ECM is seeing. That will at least give you an idea whether or not the ECM is seeing good values.
