Default Road noise through the door

I just replaced the window motors on both sides, then added sound deadening to both doors. With the stereo on, everything sounds great and likely cancels out the road noise I hear. The windows appear to be sealing better than ever, there's also a strip on the bottom of the door that I've read should be there, and it's there.

I'm not sure where the noise is coming from, other than the bottom of the door. Any ideas? There's some holes in the bottom of the door, which I assume is for drainage if any water were to enter.

See this rubber like piece on the top left, it fell off, but i reattached it with some screws, so it shouldn't be that. But if the door were to leak air/sound, I would think it would be in this area. Maybe I was expecting a bigger difference with the sound deadening. Or perhaps adding some poly fill to the interior of the door would help.

I also did not replace the cover, which hopefully isn't a mistake. I read in a few places it was not necessarily needed.

This is correct.

What cover did you not install? The plastic piece? The plastic is very important. The entire interior of the door is wet. (hence the drainage holes) The plastic keeps the sound deadening on the door panel from soaking up water and getting ruined.

There is a wool-like insulation on the back of the door panel that, in concert with the plastic, should keep noise down. The linkage rods in the door also have sleeves on them that keep them from clanging against one another.

IMO - When I hear road noise, I just turn up the stereo...

did you ever try adding sound-deadening material inside the door panels? I had a similar issue, and some peel-and-stick damping sheets really helped cut road noise. Also curious if anyone else noticed a difference after tweaking the door seals or weather stripping? Sometimes the smallest gaps can let in a surprising amount of noise.

I had the same issue in my Camaro, and what helped the most was pulling the door panels and adding sound deadening materials inside. I used them on the inner door skin and around the speaker area, and it really cut down the wind and road noise. Make sure your door seals are still in good shape too—it all adds up.
