Aftermarket Headlight Motor Issues

Aftermarket Headlight Motor Issues I have an 01 T/A with a single aftermarket headlight motor on the left since the original died. The headlight functions up and down correctly, but no amount of adjustment will keep it level with the right headlight when shut. The right sits flush with the bumper, while the left sits 1 finger-width or more above the bumper. I tried the manual height adjustments, and bottomed out it still doesn't sit flush but it gets closer. But when I cycle the headlights up and down again, they sit exactly where they were before higher up, and let me adjust down again manually until bottoming out again. When watching that particular headlight shut, it goes down, not all the way, but raises back up ever-so-slightly. My right doesn't seem to do this. Any help is appreciated and thank you in advance.
This is a common issue to address. Usually it's caused by the arm not being seated on the motor shaft correctly, one of the motor bolts not being in properly, or one of the stops being bent. Compare your left and right sides and you should be able to find the problem.
- You may need to take the nut off the shaft to make sure the arm is seated on the shaft all the way.
- The bolts that hold the motor in do NOT all go the same direction. One is opposite the others. If not, the motor will bind.
- Check the two stops that hit the arm and limit the door open and closed positions.
