PCV / catch can new behavior
As I had it the past few years with LS9 valve covers:
* the LS9 valve cover nipples are not restricted orifices
* passenger valve cover nipple to throttle body
* driver valve cover nipple capped
* LS3 valley cover outlet to MMS port with stainless mesh
* LS3 intake manifold to MMS port with machined surface
* At prior MMS suggestion, I was using fitting top with long hose instead of breather cap, supposed to help on road courses

At MMS's suggestion a few days ago, I changed to the breather cap, capped the valley cover outlet, and ran hose between driver valve cover and can port facing mesh. Emptied the drain hose last night.
Drove the car about 7 miles to work, then about 20mi to a remote work site. When I started the engine to leave for home, I noticed an unusual plume of dark smoke in my rear mirror. I can't say I've ever seen that since the engine was built in 2019. It has about 21K on it.
Drove about 20mi home and found the catch can full. Drained it and it was just a little over 7oz for that ~50mi trip since last emptied.

Due to the huge volume change, tonight I reverted the hoses to the way they have been the last few years, but left the breather on for another data point. I held the long hose up that I removed from the driver cover and nothing came out of it.
While I attempted to schedule engine health checkup, any other suggestions?
