Replacing driver’s side window switches
I read that someone had the exact same problem and after changing the window switches on the driver’s side, he was able to roll the passenger window all the way up without any issues. My question is how do I replace the window switches on the driver’s side so I can get rid of this space ?
I also have to deal with changing the window motor on the passenger side as well but I’ll tackle that later down the road.
please see the below pics for clarification.
The space that’s left after using the switch on the driver’s side to roll the passenger window up. That’s as far as it can go up.
The space is gone when using the passenger window switch located on the passenger door.
That’s when the window got stuck and had to wait a while till I was able to roll it all the way up again. I don’t think that changing the window switches on the driver’s side will solve this issue, because the window got stuck a couple of times even after using the switch on the passenger side. Which lead me to believe that after posting a thread here everyone said it’s the window motor.
If the windows work as expected with the passenger switch but not the driver's switch, you can start by changing the driver side switches.
The thermal cut off switch inside the motors can also be aggravated by high resistance in the driver's side switch assembly. (This could cause the motors to trip out before the glass is all the way up.)
Beware, the switch trim gets brittle over the years, so pry your old switch assembly out gently. (Otherwise the trim can crack.)

I was thinking about getting the door panel off first then trying to remove the switch trim from the inside without the need to pry it out or damage it.
I think my best bet is to first change the window switches on the driver’s side and then go from there.
what do you think?
