Headlight Motors Hello everyone. I have a 1999 Trans Am and the driver's side headlamp motor started failing in the manner of a stripped gear--the erratic operation when using the unlock door fob. I ordered the brass gear set and replaced it today--but now headlamp motor will not work at all. The fuse is good, the connector is clean and the headlamp comes on. The motor does not make any sound or try to operate and I cannot get the manual **** to move more than a few turns--it was very difficult getting it to move to first raise the headlamp. The bolt for the arm is on the correct side. Could the motor have failed as well? But would a failed motor affect the manual operation?

The brass gear thing is not a good fix. They strip just like the plastic gears and (IMO) are a waste of money. If you have a bad motor, it will just rip apart your metal gears like it did the plastic ones: https://ls1tech.com/forums/wiring-st...ght-doors.html
If the gears are good, check out post #1838 in the mega thread and start reading from there. The solder on the headlight module is a common issue and can affect the sides differently.
However, if you pulled out broken plastic gears - your problem is likely mechanical.
