Default 2002 Pontiac Firebird Power Window Issue

Driver window just started to stop moving midway when powering up/down positions. If wait a few minutes it advances a little-halfway-all way. Currently in up position. Thinking motor or could it be fuse? Anyone same issue/resolution? Ty

Typical failure mode. You need a new window motor.

There is a thermal cutoff switch in the motor that fails in the off mode. Pulling up on the glass while you move it will give the motor some help, but its going to get worse fast until it craps out 100%. Opening the door and pulling up on the glass will help you out for a few days if you are in a jam, but I wouldn't open the glass if you can avoid it and replace the motor ASAP.

Be sure to read up on the shbox method of window motor replacement. It is far superior to the factory method and will save you tons of heartache, effort and will help the car's longevity.
