Default Licence plate bulb replacement 2001 Z28

Could someone PLEASE tell me how to get to these? Can you use LED bulbs? Found out the hard way with using LED bulbs on the brake lights without resistors (no cruise control). Thanks in advance.

The plate lamp assembly is held in with 2 little screws. Its easy to get off. I replaced mine with a Sylvania ZEVO 194 LED. I tried a few other LED's but the tip of the bulb wouldn't allow them to fit. The ZEVO was the only one I could get to go in properly without modification.

Thank you for the reply, I see the 2 screws on the outside above the license plate
