This is only a few years old. Operates perfectly. It’s been holding its fluid the whole three years. I noticed yesterday a tiny little drop of power steering fluid seeping from the round plug.
Can just this seal be popped out and replaced instead of getting a whole new (remanned) rack & pinion?
If so, where do I get this type of plug and how do I remove this one.
That is the cover for the adjuster and I believe it has an o-ring. Pry it out with a flathead screwdriver and apply some Permatex to it and put it back together and see if that dosen't fix it.

Well, its like an incredibly slow leak. I'd hate for it not to work and then its real bad.
I was wondering if I can get a new o-ring and cap....than smack it back in place like they do during a remanned overhaul.
But your idea.....i guess it can't hurt for me to try JB Weld epoxy on the outside.....right...? If that doesn't work than I'll just still have that same slow leak.
But you’re talking about popping that metal cap off and than putting the sealant inside there?
All the fluid would need to be drained I guess and clean it completely all around that opening for the Permatex to stick. I wonder if those caps are a one-use cap.
Or you saying try the Permatex on the outside first?
You will lose fluid when you remove the cap but I'd try by removing the cap and applying a small bead of RTV sealant to the inside of the cap and put it back on there and see if that stops your leak.
