Repair or replace leaking rack-and-pinion?

Repair or replace rack'n'pinion? My original rack'n'pinion developed a small leak a few months ago. Is it easier to fix the leaking seal, or just replace the entire thing?
Dealer quoted me $591 for it, but I see some folks selling used units for ~$100. I need to buy new tie-rod ends anyway. Maybe that'd be a good time to upgrade some other things too in that vicinity.

Repair or replace rack'n'pinion Mine is leaking a bit. Can I repair it, or is my only reliable alternative to spend $600 for a new one at the dealership? Only got one opinion in External Engine advising to buy new.
