Bad battery or other?

Bad battery or other? Quick question... (already searched, but still have question)
I turn the key, I hear the fuel pump start, then I hear ONE click then nothing.
It is not VATS (not getting security light). The voltage starts out around 11 and quickly drops after I turn the key.
Is this the battery? The battery is just a little over a year old. It was driven 4-5 hours daily in stop and go traffic around Wash DC this summer, but for the past two months it has only been driven for short periods on weekends. Is it common for a battery to die that quickly under those conditions?

Being it's election day I'd vote it's the battery, starting out at 11 volts isn't good. It really doesn't matter how old the battery is, I've seen them die sooner and others that go seven years before they give up....head to AutoZone and have them check it out ( around here there no charge to check the battery ).

optimas are awsome.
i have seen a lot of the ac delco batts. go bad.

Thanks guys - you were right. It is the battery. I jumped it this afternoon and it started right up. But I probably need to look at getting a replacement for it with winter coming. So Optima is a good brand to go with?
