F...ed up my window, Help

F...ed up my window, Help I tried installing a new window motor this weeked and ran into some problems, and F'd up some stuff in the process. If you have done this repair before there is a spring in the door, it is a round coil. I drilled out the rivits holding the part which holds the motor to the gears (thinking that it was the rivits holding the motor on, then realized the motor was rivited to this part 
. Doing this caused the spring to come off . So I have no way of getting the spring compressed 
. So I get the old motor off and try to fix it with no luck . I take the new motor back off so I can drop the window down in the door so It does not break, then button it back up. I take it to the dealership this morning to see if they can fix it, well I get the call and they said that they need to replace the part that had the spring attached and want nearly $500 to fix it 
. Does this sound right? Is it really going to be that much or do any of you know of a better place to take it. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

now they have to put a window regulator in. they aren't cheap, and as far as i know are only a dealer item. if you had trouble doing the motor, i wouldn't recomend you try to fix it yourself. they as a pain in the ***.
Had to do the window motor on my car. Wasnt too hard, just too tight for my fat *** hands.... I dont recall seeing any kind of spring thingys though. What year is your car?
