there are THREE pages of diagnostic trouble shooting to find out why my cruise control isn't working ... someone else has had to have had this problem. Any help is appreciated.

When mine went out, it was the switch on the clutch pedal that was broken...that was when my car was under warranty though so I couldn't tell you how to fix it

I wouldn't say theres any one common problem. Both the brake switch and cruise switch adjustments could be where to look. At the dealership we have an actual cruise control tester that plugs inline with the cruise module wiring. It pretty much tells exactly what the problem is.

Could be quite a few things. The first thing to check would be the fuse of course. That then the brake and clutch pedal switches as mentioned. There should be a flowchart of somesort in the Helms manual. Id use that to help trouble shoot it. There isnt much to a cruise control at all.
Will be a little trickier to pinpoint the problem if it ends up being a bad switch on the turn signal or something.

Cruise Control - Damn, that's an option I didn't even want. I'd just do a lightweight mod and take about 4 lbs. off the front of my car and chunk it! Problem solved.!

Mine went out right when I got my convertor installed.
I don't know what the relation is between the 2, but I've heard of it happening to a lot of LS1s with aftermarket convertors.
