Default LT1 coolant issues. . .

I tried camaroz28.com, but as usual the post goes unnoticed. . . So lets try here. . .

Having issues with my coolant flowing through. I had to change the dreaded opti and reinstalled everything. Before the install everything was perfect. Now I'm having dire issues with it and I don't know why. I did nothing out of the ordinary and now the return line from the back of the heads doesn't have coolant flowing through it. I'm thinking maybe a piece of silicone got lodged in there but considering theres two banjo's I couldn't see that being a definite case, but not ruling it out. I bled the system only about 50 times to no avail and my temps shoot up to 220* within about 5-10 minutes of idling, I think theres huge air pockets in the heads still. I've change the thermostat about 3 times and I see no difference. Not only that but the radiator hoses become EXTREMELY pressurized. FWIW, I have a meziere water pump and yes it is working. The odd thing is I can feel the coolant flowing through the radiator hoses when its cold and the engine is off.

So with that being said, any suggestions?

have you checked to make sure the temp sensor is good? it takes its reading off the water pump. are you also sure everything is put back together correctly and that the water is flowing correctly. is it possible that youve got the pump wired backwards and its flowing backwards?

Are you using a stock temp t stat? If so then 220 degrees sounds about right after idling for a few minutes.

Raise the front of the car or park it on a hill, the air in the system will be much eaiser to bled out,the air will be forced to the top.

The temp sensor is good, and no the actual gauge temp isn't taken off the water pump, its taken off the side of the head where i've been doing a resistance test to measure actual temp. And yes everything is put together correctly and nothing is wired wrong.

Smo's,
thats a good suggestion, worth a shot. . .
