Default Radiator Light

On the gauge cluster, i believe i have a coolant light on and it will not go off there is enough coolent, just had the radiator boiled out, new cap, new theromostat. It's just something that is bothering me a lot, it is a red light in the middle of the speedo i believe. thanks

EDIT :

The light is located in the upper right of the tach, this is a collant light and not a windshield washer fluid light, right... because that is full as well.

well im not sure on the camaros, but if it is a low coolant light, and you can check the owners manual to verify, then its pretty normal for it to act up. just go to the local gm dealer and get a new one. its easy to replace. the snesor is on the raditor by the battery. youll have to pull the battery out to replace it.

You could also just unplug the sensor and the light will go out. That's the way mine's been for 5 years.

I can get you the GM part number for a new sensor if you need it.

You might also try draining some of the coolant, removing the sensor, and cleaning it with some electronics parts cleaner (or perhaps brake parts cleaner). It's possible that it's just gunked up with coolant crud and needs to be cleaned out. I'd try that before buying a new one.

If you keep the electrical connector unplugged, you just won't get any low coolant light. I always keep an eye on the temp gauge just to make sure everything is ok, but if you happened to miss it, you'll get a CHECK ENGINE light if the engine begins to overheat. Just so you know, as there is somewhat of a 'backup' warning to the low coolant light.
