Default Rear end question

I have a 1994 Trans Am that I am selling so I did a tune-up(except the plugs), automatic with 108k. I recently had the fuel injection system flushed, new fuel filter, oil, oil filter, throttle body cleaned and I was also going to have the rear fluid drained, cleaned and put all new fluids in. How much does a shop usually charge to do this, and should I do it or just leave it alone and not worry about it? Thanks in advance.

Dan

Wel it depends how they do it. To take the cover off would cost more then just using a machine to suck it out. Expect 1 hour labor plus parts so $80 or so. If they use the sucky machine it would be $30-$40.

Do it yourself.

Tube of orange RTV for a gasket - $3
Can of lube and limited slip additive - $7
Can of brake cleaner to get what doesnt drip out - $2

Total - $12 and 15 minutes of time

Please don't use RTV, get a real gasket.

RTV will seal better then a real gasket, especially on a rearend housing.
