ignition problems plague my car!
ignition problems plague my car! Im still not 100% sure but im pretty sure the ignition on my car is messing up, I have a new opti, a new MSD blaster coil, and a new ICM, new plugs, and new wires. but past 5,500 the car starts bucking Badly and popping and banging, and shooting flames out the headers..
The car only ran 11.80 @ 115, my best mph ever after swapping cams, but the 60' and ET all suck!!!!!! Car is just running like crap plain and simple and has soo much more left in it. I did notice the short 1 foot long harness that plugs onto the opti has some dryrotted flaked off insulation, and the wires are showing, and very green and corroded, hopefully its the problem but im doubting it.

I did a resistance Test on the harness, all wires, still had great continuity, so I bought some shrink tube, dissasembled the connector and cut the harness in half at the middle, slid the tubes over each wire individually, sealled them, paired them into twos, shrank over the first tubes, then put one big peice of shrink tube over the pair, and shrank it, then soldered where I cut the harness in half, gave it the same treatment, then Clear RTV'd over all the shrink tube, and in the wire end of the connector, put on wire loom, and electrical taped the whole thing, better than spending $115 at the dealer!
Im going to dyno at HPE today, hopefully problem solved, or ill be able to figure out the problem with their help.
