Low oil light?

Low oil light?

I have an '01 Z with less than 40k on it. I changed the oil just under 3k miles ago. Use castrol synthetic and K&N filter. 80% highway miles. Low oil light just started coming on. Is this a bad thing? Anyone else have this issue?

anytime a light comes on its usually a bad thing, if its the "low oil" light did you ever bother to check to see if its actually low? i dont know about everyone else but ive noticed the LS1 eats up more oil than my Grand AM did(that is before the manifold gasket went out), im starting to try and check my oil every day before i go anywhere

on average im usually a quart low at 3K miles, at which time im changing it

My low oil light came on two days after I bought my car (98Z). I checked the oil and it was full. My mechanic said the low oil sensor going bad is common. Kind of alarming when it happens though.
