Question about window motor replacement
Question about window motor replacement OK I have done the search and know how to replace my window motor. My question is if that is what I need. The reason I question whether that is my problem or not is I took the door panel off and one of the stabilizers was broken. I bought a replcement and am still having the same problem - window will go down all of the way but it will take several tries to get it close....a couple of inches at a time. Could the window be out of alignment? It appears to line up ok. Should I just swap the motor out with a new one....seems like it only a matter of time anyway?
Time to swap motors. Happened to me. You can get one from O'reilly's for about $75. With a lifetime warranty because you'll need. GM really went cheap with the window and headlight motors.

You can say that again. I bought a brand new 99 TA, and before 30k miles I had 3 window and 4 headlight motors replaced. Talk about cheap. It says on LS1how.com that they used the wrong gauge wire with the motors from the factory, and it is recommended that you use an aftermarket window motor, not a GM replacement.
