Weird sound after turning off the engine

Weird sound after turning off the engine I bought my SS used a few months ago, and only started driving it around a couple of weeks ago (it was in paperwork limbo). Everything's great so far, except for one thing... after I shut off the engine, this weird sound starts coming from the back/bottom of the car. It's a rhythmic, soft ka-chunk sound, over and over, like some kind of pump or something... it goes maybe 6-8 times and then stops. It isn't all that loud, to the point where I sometimes don't even notice it if there's ambient noise around, but I have no clue what it is. Can anyone tell me? Thanks in advance.

i wouldn't worry about it. on the previous car i had (a stang) i also heard the same noise, and it was the fuel pump. but on other stangs i didn't hear it.. yet i never had a single issue with the fuel pump.
i wouldn't worry about it, because even if the pump is going bad, which i doubt if its just the noise you're noticing, it wouldn't take anything with it if it goes.. so..
i'd advise to confirm (at a mechanic, so he can test) that it IS the fuel pump. if it is, dont worry about it.

Nope, no irregularities... it was just kind of a "huh?" moment the first time I heard it. I guess I won't worry about it... instead I can worry about the problem that just sprung up with my OTHER car... but that's a post for a different website.
