service engine soon
service engine soon I was driving on the freeway to my gf house(25 miles from my house) and im doing like 70-100 all the way when i start to brake to exit the freeway i hear the exhaust backfire ,which it also does on the freeway when i let go of the gas but i heard a pop at the end of the backfire,as soon as i heard that the Service Engine Soon light came on and i look at my gauges and the temperature was at about 3/4 ! car has never passed 1/2 since ive had the car since august.and i have a autometer oil temp. gauge and that one read at 280.so i get off the freeway and park my car in front of my gf's house and i open the hood and let car sit under the shade for a while(10-15 minutes) after that i turn on the car and the Service Engine Soon Light was off .when i drove back home i was stepping on it and everything was normal-oil temp. water temp.
DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THIS ???

Maybe you caught a bag or something down there on the front air dam/scoop thingy, I drove mine once for 10 min without that piece and it was running abnormally hot, so if something got hung up on it I would expect it to run a little hotter.
