Default window problem, needs adjusting??

my window on the driver side seals perfectly when its all the way up, no leaks, but when its all the way down its resting against the door handle rod assembly and rubs agianst it on the way down. Its like the window gets out of alignment at about a quarter of the way down. When I'm rolling it back up it seems to go over a bump about three quarters of the way up and be back in the correct alignment.

Not sure what it could be off the top of my head, but take a look at this: http://shbox.com/page/windowmotor.html

That gives you a pretty good idea of how the window assembly goes together, so maybe it can help you figure out what's going on in there. Maybe the wound spring is loose?

Could be binding/catching on part of the wiring harness that has come loose or was left loose. Sounds like it has been worked on before and not put back together correctly, I see that alot. You will just have to take the inner trim panel off and find the problem. Most reputable body shops will do this for you for free to get you to return in the future when you need work done.

i found the problem. one of the wheel bearings that connects the bracket that pushes the window up to the window itself broke off. i guess from the door being slammed. but even before this it seems like this window has acted up ever since i installed my alpines in the doors. so i'm gonna take it to the dealer and get it fixed once and for all.

I just changed the window motor in mine, and now the window doesn't go up strait. I tired to cheat(was having a dumbass moment!) and not take the regulator all the way out, so when I ground the rivets out of the motor the sping poped out. I had to take the regulator all the way out and try to figure out which way everything went back together. I think the spring is in wrong or the motor is off a little and doesn't have the leverage once it gets to the top. My brother needs to change his too, so I'll probably do his and figure out what is wrong with mine.

I kinda had the same problem with my old 99 camaro. I ended up having to take it to the dealer and have the reassemble the whole thing. $300 + $75 for the motor at autozone. to top it all off while i was waiting in line at the dealer to get my car inside that morning a friggin monsoon decided to hit Louisville. the rain was blasting into my car sideways. I was PISSED!
