oil change arite heres the deal....im lookin to change my oil today with either mobil 1 or royale purple but im not sure of how much to buy and the grade of oil that i need...o yea and also my check service engine light soon just came on could a needed oil change be the reason?

Use Mobil 1 0W-40, throughout the summer anyway, 5W-30 is just a little on the thin side I think, it does not offer quite the protection a thicker weight oil will. Also the additive package in the 0W is a little better. You will need to buy 6 quarts of oil. The LS-1's will take just a little over 5 quarts.

since no said yet.... not your ses light will not go on because your oil needs to be changed...
periodically you will get a change oil light...
get the ses code read and see what it is...
