Changing Tranny affect emissions I just got done with my M6 swap from an A4 but my question is. I have emissions coming up in 15 days and I still need to flash the ECM to a 6-speed. Even after the flash will I fail emissions because the tranny is not the original equipment. Will they even be able to tell if they run my VIN will it even show that it used to be an A4. Please help with a quick response I am in georgia by the way.

I thought georgia only used to do a tail pipe test? Its been a while since I was back home but if all they do is a sniffer you have nothing to worry about. And no you cant tell the trans by the VIN
not on the newer cars they don't do a sniffer. They hook a scanner up to it to scan for codes. I didn't know if they have a way of looking up VIN's to see if it is a A4 or 6 speed car but the VIN shouldn't tell them that anyways right.
