1999 Trans Am LS1 with A/C Problem I ran into a problem with my A/C. It only blows out the defroster port. A GM tech told me I have a vacuum leak. I believe him since I disconnected the vacuum at the vacuum check valve on the right side of the engine compartment at the back with the engine running and there was no vacuum. I assume the vacuum line back to the engine has come off or is leaking. But don't laugh now, I cannot find the vacuum source on the engine. The vacuum line disappears into a wiring harness that goes deep inside the back of the engine compartment. Please tell me someone, its not at the back of the engine and I have to pull the engine to get at it! Anyone know the answer to this one? Many thanks.

I'm having some "vent" problems myself, but no time to run it down yet. The vacuum comes from the intake manifold. There should be a "tree" at the back of the intake, umm I'm thinking the drivers' side. It's kinda tight back there, maybe you could slip one of those inspection mirrors back there and look (I haven't yet-but know it's back there somewhere). If nothing else you can pull the intake and get to it. Anyone else know an easy way to access it?
