Default Weird problem, electrical system?

Heres the deal. Lately when I go to start my car sometimes it takes it a bit to start. Hell, the other day it started, ran for sec and shutoff. I then restarted and my ASR OFF light stayed on. I thought from that I had a ABS sensor going bad or whatnot. I turned off the car and restarted fine and light stayed off. Good. Also lately when I start my car for the firts 10mins or so I get this high pitched whine coming from the speakers. I turn the volume all the way down and its there, as I increase RPMs the high pitch noise gets louder. Then tonight after cruising around with my buddy, when I go home. I noticed that my volts gauge was down near 8volts. I though, oh s&!t my alternator, but once I increased rpms the volts went up and stayed there. I havent touched anything electrical on this car since I have had it. I've had it for 10months now. The only thing I have done recently was replace my plugs and wires. I had to put the cheapo AutoZone wires cause I didnt have the money for MSDs or whatnot. I had fried 4 wires from hitting my headers. Well anyone thats good with electrical would be appreciated for some help. Thanks.

TIA, Ski

Have your battery load tested and replace it if necessary. All of the symptoms you describe can be caused by a failing battery.

ya a bad cell in the battery would cause the car to die (by shorting out) and possably causing the alternator to stay full fielded all the time to try to keep a charge in the battery. Just test the battery cheap and easy before throwing parts at it
