Question '01 T/A Headlight Motor Bad?

I'm guessing the headlight motor on my '01 WS.6 is going bad if it seems to keep running for 5 to 10 seconds after the lights are turned off. Can someone confirm this for me? It seems to work fine but might be a bit slower opening the headlight door than the other side. One strange thing though is that when I lock the doors with my remote the headlight doors open and close on both sides, while previously only the parking and fog lights used to flash when the remote was used.

Any help would be appreciated.

Most likely it is the plastic gear inside the motor. The teeth on the gear have prob worn down and thats whats happening. thats also the reason for the headlights popping up when you arm and disarm the alarm. Check out the sticky thread at the very top of this forum for the very easy fix for this problem

the plastic gear teeth are grinded. Remove the motor, pry off the cover, turn the gear 90 degrees either way, clue the cover back on. replace the motor, and that embarrassing noise is gone

Thanks Guys! I took off the nut that holds the headlight door arm to the motor shaft and rotated the shaft 90 degrees using the manual ****. I put the arm back on the shaft and tightened the nut. Done. It was EASY and worked like a charm.

Thanks again for the help!
