Headlight Problem! WTF!!!

Headlight Problem! WTF!!! So my drivers side headlight has been giving me a problem over the past two weeks where it would not go up/down all the time and would only do so intermittently when i'd turn the headlights on/off
It got worse so today i swapped out the motor with an extra that i had.
I first tested my motor (ofcourse) by plugging it in and turning the headlight on/off too see if the motor was working...it did and all seemed good so i was all set
I put the damn thing in and the fukin headight won't go up or down still
I can make it go up manually so it's not like i possibly put it in wrong...checked the fuses and everything seems fine
WTF is going on???

I have the same problem. I'm ordering a couple of the brass gear rebuild kits here pretty soon, figure I'll do the other side also before the gear in that one starts to strip. 
I opened up my old 'dead' motor and the gear was perfectlt fine
