low coolant light blinks on and off.....
low coolant light blinks on and off..... ever since i bought my car the low coolant light has come on and off, sometimes it just stays on real bright and sometimes very dim. I realized the 2nd day i had the car that the person before me used the green stuff instead of dexcool stuff. i quickly changed it. but my low coolant light still comes on sometimes....usually after 20 or so min of driving the car, sometimes it blinks sometimes is stays on and sometimes it doesnt come on at all.....is this something to worry about? but engine temp is fine never overheats or even comes close. could it be a bad sensor. cause i know the coolant isnt low. thanks guys for all your help.
That low coolant sensor is always going bad. The cheap thing to do is simply pull the plug off the sensor. The dash light won't ever come on again.
If you want to do it right, simply replace the sensor. It's about $50 or so if I remember right.
My system doesn't leak, so I just pulled the wire. Now that I think about it, I never did change my sensor. I meant to, but forgot. Oh well.
