Steering rack arm problem

Steering rack arm problem After doing headers, and full exhaust on my TA today, I noticed a problem after my friend left. The steering rack arm is right on the driver side header. Leaning right on it. We had to remove this to get the driver side header in from the top, and we put it back on and the steering is much more firm now that we tightened it up well (it was pretty loose, good amount of play in steering wheel). When I take turns at slow speeds, I dont have to turn the wheel much for the car to turn. What needs to be done to correct this? Loosen it up some and pull it the opposite way, or pry it away from the header? I'll get a pic tomorrow. My friends didnt rub on his LT's, just wondering why mine is.
Ive had problems with mine to but it was just with slack. I would say take it off, and actually look at how it goes on and make sure its back on right. That may be why it is cocked off to one side. Not really sure though yu'll figure it out.
