Headlights grinding one night i turned my head lights on and off and they were fine , i was checking them because i thought they were raiseing at different times ,then the next day when i turned them off there was the worst grinding noise i ever heard and now when turn the parking lights on the lights go up, and then still make a grinding noise when i turn them off. someone told me that it could be the switch or the motor in the lights..if anyone has had this problem and has fixed it let me know how and what the problem was .. thx

Look through the page noted above, its got some very good write-ups on pop up headlights. If you have stripped the stock nylon gears, you can fix it for free. Manually raise the headlight, remove the retaining nut from the headlight lifting arm, gently pry the arm off of the motor stud, manually turn headlight motor 180* and re-install lifter arm. Manually lower your headlight and cycle it up and down with the switch once or twice so the motor can readjust itself. The next time it makes the grinding noise you will need to buy the new gear. The website has an excellent write-up with pics on exactly how to do this.
