Default Disable headlight doors with "parking lights" on?

I recently purchased a 1997 Firebird, and the headlight doors go up when I turn the headlight switch to "parking lights", even though the headlights are off. When I submitted a question about disabling said "feature" on ls1.com's forum, I was informed that my car might have a bad switch or that something may have been modified. Considering that I recently found out that the stock non-posi 308 diff had been replaced with a 411 w/ posi, and the fact that the 4 spd auto trans currently has a 3 pos shift adjustment switch extending from the base of the console, anything is possible.

Could anyone email me a wiring diagram for the headlight circuit? In addition to the wiring diagram, could you explain how I can check whatever I should check in order to solve this problem, seeing as I don't want to screw anything up? Thanks.

Like I told ya on the other site-I still think you have a bad switch. I had this happen in my 3rd generation T/A and the switch was defective.

To 98TADRIVER, my driver side motor grinds as well. As soon as I have the money, I plan on replacing my stock plastic gears with brass gears which are available on the web. I have found two sites that offer said brass gears. I prefer the first, since it looks to eliminate the rubber "bumper", though the latter looks equally suitable:

Hope this helps, though I'm still trying to figure out how to replace my headlight switch.
