Help with a vibration part 876432
I have an 01' Trans am, Automatic with a rear vibration that causes the back end to kinda 'wahhh' and echo thru the trunk area. thats how it sounds from the inside. from the outside this sounds like a vibration causing somthing to make contact with the rear end then echoing the tail/trunk area.
It doesn't happen immediately when I start/drive the car. But after I've driven for awhile i will hear it ONLY at idle or around 600ish rpm's and just as I barely touch the gas, if I'm above 600 the sound goes away instantly.
If I hit the gas hard or driving on the highway is non-existant after 600-700ish. So when I take slow turns or pull into my drive way and into garage, I can hear it.
Seems like an exhaust issue. But I can't understand why I would hear it echoing thru the hatch/rear or only after I've driven for awhile. like somehow somthing is hitting somthing.
Thanks a ton for any suggestion. I have a warranty also.
interestingly enough I got it checked today.
It turns out it was the sway bar bushings.. So they replaced the stabilizer bar bushings/links and replaced the bar control link, both of them.
Ends up NOT ONLY fixing the squeaking problem that I originally thought was my shocks BUT ALSO managed to fix the rear vibration problem that I was having.
Real happy two birds were killed with one stone... Thanks all.
