ls1 oil pump Hey guys i am going to be doing a cam swap in the near future. I have a 98 t/a and have read that the oil pumps on that year were not that good. That the pressure wasnt as good as the future years. Can i port the one i have or do i need to buy a new one that is ported? What kind and where is the best place to buy? Thanks for the adcice folks.
I'd just go ahead and get a new one all together.You can get a stock replacement.I'm pretty sure all the new pumps are the Ls6 part #.Some one chime in if I'm wrong but I'm pretty positive.
The biggest thing with replacing the pump is making sure you get the o-ring lined up properly.I used to see alot of threads about people not lining it up right or not replacing it with a new o-ring at all.Just something to watch out for.
