Default Howling Noise From Engine

Yeah, so I don't know if this is normal or not....but I figure I'd just throw it out there. Intermittently I get this howling noise from my engine....maybe more of a whining, like the kind a supercharger would make. Doesn't seem to do it all the time. Checked for vacuum leaks and such....don't see any. Car seems to run fine....in other words I know how it runs with a vacuum leak, and it's not running that way. I really seemed to start noticing this noise a few weeks ago after I put my underdrive pulley on. Could the two be related?? Thanks in advance!!

Sounds like a supercharger but you don't have one? Sounds like a great new free mod to me!

lol......funny stuff. Last time at the track I had some people poking around under my hood looking for the supercharger....no joke. It is more of a whine...not a squeel. And the whine increases with the revs. Maybe I'm just low on power steering fluid?? I guess I should have checked that first eh.

Okay, power steering fluid is fine. In fact, its probably a bit too overfilled...as it reads up at the hot marker, even though the engine was cold. I just replaced the bottom tensioner pulley a week ago. The idler pulley makes a clicking sound when I spin it......could that be amplified into a drone when its spinning at engine speed you think? There are no silencers on the lid....but I've had the lid for a long time, and never noticed the drone, maybe cause I was never really listening for it before.
