Manual Tranny Mount data for all
I just came across an issue with my car, hearing a clunk sound (ever so lightly) when I went into 1st or second gear.
Virgin me thought I busted my Diff...
or perhaps something else..
Then I noticed my Shift **** rise more than I thouht was normal..
So I figured I would check my tranny mount...and wow...it was completely busted in half.
I replaced it and the initial problem was resolved and oh so much smoother shifting..
I suggest to all to replace it if your car is over 50K miles on it..Use a high end poly type mount and not the stock replacment one.
So why did it go bad...well It was heat parched for sure..over time heat will do this to rubber, but then again I toasted it when I raced and downshifted terribly.,.this I think made it tear in half..
Anyway...replace them as part of a maintanance item if there stock, and use a poly type tranny mount since these will resist heat and last much longer than stock could ever last.
