Default Anything wrong with this radiator flush method?

Is there anything wrong with doing this to flush the coolant system:
Open the valve (****) on the radiator and let it all drain out. Then leave the valve open and letting the engine run with a continual water flow going into the radiator from a hose into the radiator fill cap, [b]with the radiator valve (****) open to let the coolant/water keep running out?

Maybe let it idle for 30 minutes like that or until the system is just colorless water flowing through it.

Thanks.

Only thing I was thinking is will it ever reach the temp to open the T-Stat.

We might have to let it idle until it opens, then open the (****) and let it drain. Then run the constant fresh water.

BUT....will the rush of cool water hurt the block or heads after they are warm?

the way the 5 dollar kit at walmart does it is u splice into one of the heater hoses, and the exit of the fluid comes out of the radiator fill cap. after 5 mins it should be all clear water coming out. make sure u put the heater inside on full blast. either method should work, but might be slower with the petcock as the exit b/c it is very small i think (never done a flush on a ls1 yet)

I guess you could take the lower radiator hose off to let more water flow out, right?

Or is the flow the other way?
